Printable Friday Night Prayerbook (Condensed Edition). The goal of this project was to produce a complete prayerbooklet for the Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv service that was as compact as possible yet user-friendly. This booklet is designed to be printed on 9 double-sided sheets of paper, folded and saddle stapled. It was commissioned for a minyan held annually (since 2006) at the Arisia science fiction convention in Boston, MA, and dedicated in honor of Leonard Nimoy, z"l (1931–2015). Since Arisia takes place in mid-January, this "Condensed" edition omits all special insertions for holidays and other times of year. A companion "Expanded" edition which includes insertions for year-round use is in the works. The 36-page reader's PDF and the InDesign source file are available at this project's page on the groundbreaking OpenSiddur.org website.

Friday Night Order of Service. This leaflet was created to hand out as a guide to Friday night services at Temple Beth Shalom of Cambridge (the Tremont St. Shul). It lists the complete order of service for the Friday afternoon mincha, Kabbalat Shabbat, and Erev Shabbat ma'ariv prayers. It also provides the corresponding page numbers for three of the prayerbooks in common use at Tremont St.: the Siddur ha-Shalem (ed. Birnbaum), the Artscroll, and the Siddur Chaveirim Kol Yisrael (a.k.a. "the purple book", ed. Frydenberg). It is designed to be photocopied double-sided on a single 8.5x11" sheet and folded into a four-panel program.

Transliterated Birkat Ha-Mazon (Grace After Meals). This 2-page version (for printing back-to-back on a single sheet) presents a transliteration of the Hebrew text, side by side with its translation into English.

  • PDF Abridged version (8.5x11" page), suitable for weekdays and regular Shabbats.
  • Complete version (8.5x14" or legal-sized page) containing the additional blessings for festivals, including Rosh Chodesh. Coming Soon

Chanukah Song Sheet. Everyone loves to sing at Chanukah parties (don't they??), but no one can remember the words to anything more than one verse of Ma'oz Tzur. Now you can! This version, produced in 2011, includes all the Chanukah candle-lighting blessings (with Hebrew transliterations) PLUS the lyrics to 12 favorite Chanukah tunes, all on one easily-photocopied 8.5x11" sheet (double-sided).

Tu B'Shvat Seder. I put together this Tu B'Shvat seder in spring 2001 for use by my synagogue's 20s&30s group. Run time approx. 60 minutes (not counting set-up and clean-up, of course).
